Boharat Type FoundryUNVEILING THE VERY FIRST CUSTOM TYPEFACE FOR A BANK IN EGYPT, THE CIB.
A fully-fledged, bi-scriptual typeface that supports not only Basic Latin & Arabic but also Western European Characters, Urdu & Persian. A moden naskh based Arabic script paired with it’s counter Latin sans serif grotesque, in multiple weights for flexible use across different channels. The focus was to create harmony between the Latin & Arabic scripts without losing the essence of either, with a monolinear design that coexists with the organic flow of Arabic Calligraphy. The typeface is built with optimum forms for legibility in small sizes and includes stylistic features for display purposes.
The main feature of authenticity in this typeface, is the cursive responsive Kashida in the mono-linear Arabic script. It is included as a stylistic set, offering a modern take on the genuine humanistic characteristic of Arabic calligraphy. This is a new addition to the category of monoliniar Arabic typefaces and although the kashida is cursive the design maintained coexistence and harmony with the Latin sanserif grotesque letterforms.
